Hi! My name is Rutger Rauws! I'm thirty years old and was born and raised in Almelo, the Netherlands. Twelve years ago I moved to Eindhoven, the Netherlands for my studies and ended up staying. Although I'm originally not from Eindhoven, I feel like a true Eindhovenaar.
Since March 2022, I am a municipal council member in Eindhoven. In my first term I represented GroenLinks and after a merger I now represent PRO. As a council member, I'm fighting for a greener and more social Eindhoven. I'm concerned about the ongoing climate crisis, the lack of affordable housing, and growing inequality. In the council, I'm primarily the spokesperson for housing and mobility.
Besides my political work, I'm a software engineer. I love complex technical puzzles and designing smart solutions. In my free time, I enjoy running, photography, and attending techno parties!
